Qualification Requirements

Please see below the qualification requirements for our typical service delivery roles. For other roles the qualification requirements will be clearly defined within the main body of the advertisement and the person specification.

N.B. Starting salary will be dependent on qualification level on entry.

Team Manager

  • NVQ 4 in Advice & Guidance or
  • NVQ 4 LDSS or
  • DipCG Parts 1&2 or
  • QCG (and relevant units of NVQ4 in Advice and Guidance)
  • Level 6 Career Guidance and Development.

and have a minimum of 3 years experience in a relevant field e.g. Careers service, Youth and Community work. Management experience and/or relevant qualification would also be an advantage.

Careers Adviser (Young People)

Fully qualified

  • NVQ 4 in Advice & Guidance with additional level 6 units
  • NVQ 4 LDSS with additional level 6 units or
  • DipCG Parts 1&2 or
  • Level 6 Career Guidance and Development Diploma
  • QCG plus NVQ4 in Advice and Guidance or,

Trainee

  • QCG (and must be willing and able to undertake the NVQ 4 in Advice and Guidance) or
  • Level 3 Advice and Guidance (and must be willing and able to undertake Level 6 Career Guidance and Development Diploma)


Careers Adviser (Adults)

Fully qualified

  • NVQ 4 in Advice & Guidance or
  • NVQ 4 LDSS or
  • DipCG Parts 1&2 or
  • Level 4 Career Information and Advice Diploma

Trainee

  • NVQ3 in Advice & Guidance (and be willing to undertake the level 4 Career Information and Advice diploma)
  • QCG (and be willing to undertake the mandatory units of the NVQ 4 in Advice and Guidance or the new ICG Certificate in Professional Practice)


Client Support Adviser (CSA)

Must have proven experience in a similar role. NVQ 2 in Advice & Guidance or equivalent qualification would also be an advantage.


Receptionist/Administrator

Must be educated to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent and preferably have proven experience in a similar role.
