New Year Resolutions...how are you doing so far?
It’s been a month since we welcomed the 2018…The beginning of a new year always seems the perfect time to re-evaluate and look back at our life choices and set up some goals to become a “new you”.
However, if you didn’t have the chance to write your resolutions or if you feel you haven’t changed anything in your day-to-day yet, there’s no need to stress out or feel anxious! There isn’t a specific date to start your journey towards the person who you want to be and you don’t have to wait until the New Year, next month or next Monday to begin! I recommend you begin today to make some small changes in your life that might help you feel better and happier.
For me, I have chosen five things that I would like to challenge myself on that will have a positive impact on my wellbeing.
1: Meet new people. When stuck in a rut we tend to stay at home, missing out on interesting opportunities for networking and having fun. Meeting new people can be beneficial to your well-being and help your career. Don’t be afraid; overcome your shyness and give yourself the chance to get to know people.
2: Start eating healthier and spending less. Switching to a healthier diet can be difficult with the love of junk food. However, with a good amount of motivation, learning some basic tips can help slowly develop healthy eating habits. For me, learning to control emotional eating habits is essential because I love to pig out when stressed.
3: Travel more and see the world. I love seeing new places and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. To travel, I must start balancing my money and sorting out my finances to be able to afford the right equipment and cover all expenses.
4: Become more active. Sitting at a desk all day can make anyone feel lethargic and make us want to move around. Just going for a walk on lunch breaks or maybe going for a run twice a week will help you feel more awake and healthier.
5: Do more of the things that make me laugh: It’s really important to laugh and release endorphins. Do the things that you love, such as meeting friends, riding your horse, going to the cinema, going for a walk or having a movie day. Anything that makes you happy and laugh out loud you should do more of.
