National Apprenticeship Week 2017
National Apprenticeship Week 2017 is about celebrating apprenticeships.
Check back to www.ansbury.co.uk every day this week for tips and hints on finding an apprenticeship.
Most people think of apprenticeships as being in traditional trades and careers like bricklaying, carpentry, care and hairdressing. Of course, apprenticeships like this are available but the choice is so much wider. There are over 80 career areas on offer including design, accounting, insurance, administration, fitness instructor, ICT, farming, retail, science and catering.
Apprenticeships are jobs with training where you gain work experience and earn whilst gaining qualifications. They are offered by small, local companies and by huge multinationals and everything in between.
For a full list go to www.apprenticeships.gov.uk and choose “types of apprenticeships”.
They are open to students from 16 year olds, so you could do one straight from year 11 or after a sixth form or college course and they can be an alternative to university.
