Meet the team

Sarah Brown – Bourne Digital Project Manager

Why did you join Bourne Digital?

I have worked in adult education for 15 years, and the previous project I worked on involved creating online resources for Functional Skills English and Maths. Bourne Digital was a natural progression for the skills I have learnt over the years.

What was your previous job?

Flex2Learn project (Skills & Learning) – part of a national project to create and test online resources aimed at the care sector, as shift patterns makes attending traditional adult education challenging.

What are your hobbies?

Apart from long walks with my dogs, I do face painting at the weekends. I really enjoy it as it’s so different from my day job, I get to work with fabulous artists and the children are always happy! It takes me to weird and wonderful places, including a farm themed party on the second floor of a building with real ponies!

What's your favourite movie?

Man Up – I am a sucker for rom-coms, plus it has Simon Pegg in it. He is so funny! It’s about a girl who inadvertently becomes someone else’s blind date. They get on great (of course) then he discovers she isn’t who he thought she was, they fall out and then the mad antics to get together. Makes me smile every time and I must have watched a dozen times.

If you had a superpower what would it be and why?

I’m going to ask for the same as Andy - Teleportation. My sister lives on the most western point in Wales and takes an age to get there.

Do you have any ambitions in life?

To travel more.

Do you have any phobias?

I don’t have any real phobias – however, I’m not keen on water (I don’t mind washing) especially if I’m out of my depth.

What’s your favourite takeaway?

I am ashamed to say it but K Fried Chicken is my guilty pleasure (other types of chicken are available)

What’s you morning routine?

Up, usually about 7. Let the dogs out, cup of tea, fruit salad and yoghurt. Wash, dress. Usually a bit of housework in the middle.

What three items would you take to a desert island?

My partner, cheese and soap 😊
