Dylan, 19, suffered a cardiac arrest shortly after finishing his Sport and Football Coaching course at College.
He said: “After the cardiac arrest a year and a half ago, I wasn’t allowed to drive, which made it really difficult to get a job related to my qualifications. I felt a bit depressed, like nothing was going my way and I didn’t know what to do. I was spending my days at home being bored.”
Joining the Face Forward project allowed Dylan to engage in 1:1 sessions with his assigned Adviser and access Careers Advice support delivered by Ansbury Guidance. This allowed him to feel confident again, find new opportunities, and move on in his career.
Dylan added: “Thanks to help from Face Forward, I now have a full-time job relating to my sports qualifications and I also volunteer as a coach with Boscombe Albion Under 11 football team. Face Forward has helped me to feel a lot more confident and positive about the future.”
Face Forward is funded by the European Social Fund and the National Lottery, through the Big Lottery Fund.
