What can Bourne Digital do for me?

We can help you identify the issues that are stopping you from moving forward in life and to create a clear plan, with specific steps, to overcome your digital challenges and achieve your goals.

Here are some examples of what we can support you with:

  • Employment: exploring your interests and ambitions, accessing work experience placements, attending job clubs, writing your CV and enhancing your interviewing skills, finding learning opportunities to increase your skills
  • Confidence and self-esteem: taking up new hobbies, getting involved in activities you enjoy using digital tools such as YouTube tutorials or apps
  • Education and Training: finding courses or training opportunities and attending job clubs.

Is Bourne Digital free?

Bourne Digital is fully funded i.e. there is no cost to you*

How much support do I get?

  • 1.5 hours of weekly 1:1 Mentor support
  • Support to complete a digital CV and online job applications
  • Help to access a minimum of 10 working days in work experience placements (2 placements with a minimum of 5 working days each, these do not have to run consecutively)
  • Where appropriate, you may be able to claim travel and childcare support to attend your training courses* (*dependent on the policies and procedures of the training provider)

You will have access to..

  • A minimum of 3 hours of employment support from Job Clubs each week
  • A minimum of 6 hours of digital, wellbeing and life skills activities each week

I don’t live in Bournemouth; can I still access the project?

The Bourne Digital project is just for people living in Bournemouth, who are unemployed and looking for work or underemployed. If you live outside Bournemouth and would like information advice and guidance and please contact us, and a member of team will help you:

Can I still get involved if I can’t regularly commit to going to activities and events?

There is an expectation that by joining the Bourne Digital project you are committing to take part in the targets identified and agreed within your online Personal Development Plan.

How is Bourne Digital different from other projects or services?

This project is particularly exciting because you will be assigned an online Personal Development Plan. This will allow you to access a range of learning opportunities from several providers, but your learning will be tracked in one place, so we can all see how well you are doing irrespective of where you are learning!

Will I need to travel to get involved with Bourne Digital?

Once you’ve signed up, our advisers will meet you at a Job Club venue or Bournemouth library. You will be required to travel to Job Clubs and any other identified learning opportunities. Where appropriate, you may be able to access travel support to attend your Mentor appointments or learning opportunities. Please talk to your Mentor for more information.
