April Project Update
Bourne Digital April Project Update
It has been over a month since the last Bourne Digital update, in which we announced our last group was full, and as we enter the final months of the project, we still have 4 groups left to complete our online Confidence Building programme.
Supporting those learners on a 1:1 basis are our Digital Champions, provided by Dorset Council and more specifically the Routes to Inclusion Team. In the previous newsletter, we introduced Mike, a Digital Champion and shared his case study, in which he tells us a little about himself and how he came to volunteer. This month we have released two more Digital Champion case studies. You can read all about Tony P’s experiences here and Tony D’s here.
Whilst we are on a case study theme, we’d also like to share with you Sean’s story. Sean came to us in the thick of the pandemic having been made redundant after many years in the same career. He quickly realised he would need some basic computer skills to help find his next job. You can see how Bourne Digital helped Sean here.
Finally, who remembers Martin? Martin was one of the first clients to complete the Bourne Digital course, and he also shared his experiences at the Digital Leaders week in October 2021. He has come a long way since then! We caught up with Martin six months after he finished his Bourne Digital course, to see how his newfound digital skills were helping him in his day-to-day life. Found out how Martin is doing here.
As you are all aware the Bourne Digital Project closes its doors at the end of June, however, we still have plenty of news to share, including how all the current clients are faring, the Bourne Digital legacy and of course a final round-up of what the Bourne Digital project has achieved over the past 18 months. Stay tuned!
